Saint James Primary School provides a fun and stimulating learning environment, receiving a 'Good with outstanding features' grade in our latest Ofsted report.

Why should you apply to Saint James School?

Our values in Love, Respect and Courage

Our values support young people to become resilient, independent learners, ready to take on life's challenges.

We also encourage our students to become reflective, supportive members of their community.

We provide a modern, forward-thinking curriculum

At Saint James we've created a curriculum based around the key skills children need to learn in all subjects, as well as instilling learning behaviours we believe are essential to becoming a life-long learner.

We strive for our curriculum to be future-proof, allowing children to develop the skills required to thrive in jobs that don't even exist yet.

Rated 'Good' by Ofsted with 'oustanding behaviour' observed from children

Saint James School strives to constantly improve standards, and to eradicate bad behaviour.

Our latest Ofsted report described our staff as 'ambitious and skilled', with children noting 'there is no bullying'.

High quality, well maintained facilities

Our grounds team and cleaners go the extra mile to make sure our school is always kept clean and well maintained.

Children enjoy eating at our modern dining area, and love to play on our timber play equipment and well equipped sports facilities.

Application process

Hampshire County Council is the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools.

The admission arrangements are determined by the County Council, after statutory consultations.

Waiting list

Each school has a published admission number (PAN) for entry to Year R, and our school will admit this number of children if there are sufficient applications.

The PAN for Saint James Church of England Primary School for 2024-2025 is 90 and our KS2 year groups have a limit of 96 due to room size.

No school can guarantee vacancies, so you're strongly encouraged to add 3 school choices when making your application in case one or more of your choices is unable to take your child.

Application priority

Hampshire County Council will first consider first all applications received before the published deadline.

Notifications to parents offering a primary or infant school place will be sent by the County Council on 16th April 2024.

Applications made after the deadline will be considered after all on time applications have been completely processed, unless exceptional circumstances warrant consideration alongside on time applications.

For the normal admission round, all on time preferences will be considered at the same time and ranked in accordance with the admission criteria.

If more than one school can offer a place, then the parent's highest stated available preference is the one which will be allocated.
