What is a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)?
A VLE is an online platform that we use to enrich our digital education provision.
VLE's can also be used to give parents more insight into certain aspects of their child's learning.
At St James we use Tapestry in Year and through out their time at school our children have access to a range of exciting online learning platforms, including Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS), NumBots and Purple Mash, all of which can be used both at school and at home.

What is Tapestry?
Tapestry is an online journal we use in Year R to build a record of a child’s experiences, development and learning journey through their early years.
We use photos, videos and diary entries to 'weave’ the story of your child and how they are growing and developing.
Access your child's Tapestry account
When you accept your child's place at Saint James' School you should receive an activation email from Tapestry.
This link will be unique to your child.
If you already have a Tapestry account from a Nursery or Pre School setting, you will need a new one for our school.
Online Learning Platforms
Times Tables Rock Stars is a fun and engaging programme designed to help children develop rapid recall of their multiplication and division facts. Through exciting games, challenges and competitions, children can practise their times tables and build their confidence in maths.
NumBots focuses on helping children develop strong number sense and fluency with addition and subtraction. Through interactive games and engaging characters, children build confidence with key mathematical concepts, laying the foundations for success in more advanced maths.
Purple Mash is a creative and interactive learning platform that supports a wide range of curriculum subjects. It offers engaging activities, educational games, coding opportunities, writing tools and resources that encourage children to explore, create and develop their skills across many areas of learning.
We encourage children to use these platforms regularly to reinforce their learning and enjoy practising key skills in a fun and motivating way.
