Learning Support Assistant

Job Start Date: September 2026 or as soon as possible
Contract/Hours: Permanent, Morning and/or afternoon to include lunch duty.
Salary Type: EHCC / Support Staff
Salary Details: Grade B – Step 2 FTE £24,796, Grade C – Step 1 FTE £25,186. Pro rata and actual salary will be based on number of hours you do. This will be confirmed.
(Grade B or C depending on experience for LSA).

Job/Person Summary
We are looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, flexible and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team. The ideal candidates would be happy to work anywhere in the primary age range. We will be appointing candidates with strong English and Maths subject knowledge.
You will need to be well motivated and enjoy working with primary age children, working alongside the class teacher.
The successful candidate will have good behaviour management skills, be enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills.
If you enjoy using your initiative, have good literacy and numeracy skills and preferably have experience of supporting children's development and learning, then please apply.
This post also includes working every day at lunchtimes as a supervisory assistant supporting the children to have a safe, happy lunchtime experience.

Job/Person Summary Saint James Primary School is a large three form primary school. The school was awarded ‘Good with outstanding features’ by Ofsted. This position could be very attractive for a teacher who loves being with children but wants to get a better work life balance! Alternatively, this position is suitable for a qualified HLTA. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible and would consider someone for a part time vacancy.
We are seeking to appoint a confident, flexible and well-organised person to join our friendly and hard-working team of four HLTA’s.
You will be required to teach whole classes across the school throughout your working week, including covering the absence of a teacher. The successful candidate will have a positive and caring manner, and have excellent communication skills. You will need to have the flexibility to teach classes as required and be committed to providing the children in your care with the best learning experience possible.
