Finance Manager

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, 9 to 5 Monday to Friday (time negotiable), 40 week contract (term time plus 1 week)

We are seeking to appoint a Finance Manager with strong interpersonal skills who is warm, friendly, approachable, enthusiastic, flexible and pro-active to assist our Headteacher and work alongside our Admin Team in our busy office.

The person will need a background in finance and an accountancy qualification would be beneficial. We are looking for someone to help us to continue to run our budget efficiently, to apply for grants and to help us to generate additional income. We would love to hear from you if you are a calm, reliable, helpful person who can cope under pressure, can multi-task and can work accurately despite being interrupted often.

Responsibilities will include all work to do with budgeting placing orders, payroll and IBC, Health & Safety, Data Protection and human resources. You will be responsible for our Office Team, Site Team and Cleaning Teams, organise school lettings, manage the Health and Safety calendar and oversee First Aid, amongst other things! You will need to be able to ensure the school operates effectively meeting Health and Safety standards and help to organise policies and procedures for the governors.

You will also need to:

  • have experience of managing a school budget
  • be able to support first aid and medical needs
  • be supportive of health and safety and be able to attend training to support this within the school
  • enjoy working with children
  • be intuitive and excellent at multi-tasking
  • have a working knowledge of Word, Excel, IBC and SIMS and excellent English written skills.
